This year, my daughter Macarena started her sophomore year at USF. Words can’t express how grateful I am to see her healthy and thriving, especially knowing where her journey began, when she was diagnosed with cancer at just 4 years old. Today, she’s a beautiful, strong, and determined young woman with a big dream: become a doctor to help others the same way she was once helped. I couldn’t be more proud of everything she’s accomplished, both personally and academically. In the 15 years since her diagnosis, research has come a long way in treating her rare form of cancer, but there’s still more to be done. Too many children are still waiting for better treatments, better outcomes, and hope. That’s why I’m asking for your support.
